My darling younger cousin from abroad is back online after a loong time. When I started work it was nice that she’d come online sometime and talk cause we see each other in yonks. Been trying to install VLC on Linux lately. I’ve had enough of the OGG-only Totem media player which comes default with Ubuntu- distributions, a bit extremist I’d say. Sill I’ve got a sizable amount of mp3s, wma/vs etc., and it’s a headache to convert all to OGG. So headed off to Videolan.org and get myself a copy of  the player which left me with no need for another player on Windows, hoping it’d cater to my every whim and fancy on Linux as well. But ole Murph decides to intervene.

While installing, I went into a header file problem, which was, as I think, part of FFMPEG, which I had installed already. But still the installer says:

checking for postproc/postprocess.h… no
configure: error: Missing header file postproc/postprocess.h.

What the installer says missing is a file I made sure that exists physically :-). I implemented FFMPEG before attempting this. Any ideas, boys? A console dump is here if it would be of any help (better view it with something likw SciTE).
