The Oracle engineering team at the other side of the office has challenged us to a cricket match this Poya day. Brr.. The Oracle team consists of some of the burliest engineers ever walked the planet I guess. And our intelligence reports they’ve already purchased state-of-the-art cricket gear etc. So yesterday we also sent Riz to ‘Bat Mama’. Trust him to buy the best softball equipment. Riz is the only guy who said “come on guys, let’s kick some serious butt outta them”. He doesn’t like even to demoralize vocally, let that be joking or not. Every other, although in pure witticism, were saying stuff like that we should seriously decide whether to turn up or not. Someone else said we might even have to find new jobs. That we shouldn’t invite the female members cause it would be too embarrassing to get massacred in front of them. One said he’d still love to turn up at work wearing trousers or something. Another strategy was to down the other side psychologically, by saying stuff like “yesterday’s match wasn’t a game, isn’t it machang?” or “you scored 130 yesterday, right machang?” or “did that guy recover after your ball hit him in the head machang?” in front of them. Some strategy. We need some ACTIOON, for crying out loud.
But stuff might not be that bad really. I’m sure Dil would be useful cause he has allegedly played First Eleven while at high school. Dam and Bush might also do well, esp. in bowling. I might too. And Laki is the ubiquitous cricket guy even Sandy turns for commentaries. Wonder whether we could get down Pub and Bud’s friend. He’s reputed to be a sportsman. Hmm.. Anyways we’d have some fun. We couldn’t even go somewhere since ages I guess.
So we’ll soon be meeting up at an undisclosed location at an undisclosed time to practice an undisclosed sport. We’d decide about new jobs and girls and trousers afterwards.
Girls Are Evil: Mathematical Proof for Peer Review May 17, 2007

Abstract Algebra [Wikipedia]
Saw this email in a lab and it looked really logical. Thought I’d peer-review it here before I send it out to, say, Annals of Mathematics. This is not my personal view, course not, but the assumptions seem true. The proof is notable just for the mathematical beauty.
Assumption 1: Girls Take Time and Money.
Hence, Girls = Time x Money
Now, since Time = Money,
Girls = Money x Money
Girls = Money^2 ————–(i)
Assumption 2: Money is the root of all evil.
Money = (Evil)^1/2
Money^2 = Evil ——————-(ii)
Hence, from (i) and (ii),
Girls = Evil //
Remembering SpongeBob.. May 6, 2007

I know it maybe rated kiddies’ tuff, but for years I’ve been watching Spongebob as one of my fav TV shows. Before that there was CatDog, but I kinda started on it’s last days. Then came SpongeBob, and I’ve been addicted ever since. I didn’t really care, but the cartoon had an aura of its own which mesmerized me. It became a ritual to sit at the TV with a mug of tea and a biscuit or some munchable at 5, which I kinda miss now. Watching a DVD can never compare to the feeling.
I sometimes think anyways it’s better now I can’t have the time to see it. Actually I’m not at home. But still I can watch my other Nick favorite Jimmy Neutron on weekends, and even continue to Spongebob if I feel like it. Also I think I was kindof getting to the limit of it. So better still to run outta time to watch before I got fed up with him. And I can’t watch toons forever on a regular basis I suppose.
But I used to like all his little ways, his pineapple home, his friends [Pat, Sands, Mr K and even Sqiddie], his games and pranks, his positive attitudes [esp. about work], and the like. My favorite episode as I can remember is The Graveyard Shift, where he and Squidward get apparently haunted by an imagined ghost, The, er.., Hash Slinging Slasher. I simply loved it all, and I’d remember, albeit with a hint of missing the times all the time.
Goodbye SpongeBob, time’s up and got to go. But the fun we had, oh, how can one ever forget it!
